Blogger Robert Alai has made an appeal to National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale concerning allegations of legislators being conned.
According to Alai, the recent case of Wazir Chacha that has also dragged Murang'a Women Rep Sabina Chege is a personal problem that can be fixed without the help of a Bill in Parliament.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Alai has called on Duale to water down the Computer and Cyber Crimes Bill meant to punish internet users in case they go overboard on internet freedom.
"This is a personal problem which shouldn't be fixed by a bill targeting all internet users. Police should release the young man to go sort out his problems with the MPs. @HonAdenDuale don't allow this please," tweeted Alai.
The Computer and Cyber Crimes Bill is set to target cyber bullies, stalkers, hackers, peddlers of fake news as well as those individuals who prey on children on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Sabina Chege has since denied any links to Chacha reiterating that she has never had any relationship with the alleged conman.
On Tuesday, the Court ordered the detention of Chacha for four days as investigations are carried to ascertain the truth of the matter concerning claims leveled against him.
