The Nursing Council of Kenya has put a number of rouge training institutions on notice.

The council has identified at least five fake nursing training institutions which do not meet minimum requirements to offer the course.

The council chief executive officer, Ms Edna Tallam has not named the institutions.

Ms Tallam assured Kenyans that the council is determined to make sure only qualified institutions offer the critical course.

“We are concerned as a council on the increasing half-baked nursing graduates who are incompetent and are handling the lives of millions of Kenyans on a daily basis,” she said during an interview with Nation.

The CEO said the clean-up exercise would be extended to all counties.
