Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan has warned that stern actions will be taken against any security officer who will be found abetting criminal activities.
This follows claims that some Kenya Railways police officers in the county were colluding with unscrupulous businesspersons to transport illegal alcohol from neighboring Uganda.
Speaking in Eldoret town after a meeting with the security team, Hassan said such rogue officers will not be entertained.
"We have received those reports and found out that it's not only illicit alcohol but also some other illegal goods that are illegally transported into this county and to the neighboring country," Hassan said on Sunday.
"Investigations into those claims are ongoing and once complete involved officers will face the full force of the law as Kenya Railways is a government entity and there's a code of conduct that each staff is expected to adhere to," he added.
Uasin Gishu has been battling with an influx of illicit alcohol from Uganda most of which is packed in sachets.
