South eastern Kenya economic bloc (Sekeb) that aims to unite Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties will benefit the people of Ukambani in a huge way.
The trade bloc, which was launched on Friday, April 1, 2016 will make it easier to transfer resources across the boarders of these counties.
This will greatly improve human resource mobilization and consequently leads to development of the three regions.
This will ensure full utilisation of resources. By forming an economic bloc, it means the three counties will enjoy liberal policies and trade freely within the region.
If we look at this from business permits point of view, it will greatly boost trade.
Another advantage of Sekeb is that it will lead to cultural, economic and political integration.
This will eventually lead to regional co-operation where the leaders and residents of Ukambani will walk together be it in culture or politics.
Sekeb will also provide employment to the residents of the three counties.
