Churches have been challenged to know their role in society by preaching peace among Kenyans regardless of their denomination or the political party.
Addressing the congregation at Rianyabaro center of excellence school during a church service Bishop Gichana Maraburi of Nehemiah Pentecost churches challenged Christians and church leaders to have measures in place of preaching peace.
Bishop Gichana added that the role of the church is to bring peace where there is no peace and reconciliation hence advised all churches to come together in aid of preaching peace ahead of general election.
“The role of the church is to preach peace and advise the politician and leaders to maintain it whenever they are so that we cannot cause divisions among us," said Gichana.
"Hence, we ask all leaders to make sure that there is peace as we are approaching the general election,” he added.
In addition, he challenged the government and the opposition to come up with measures which can help the country develop.
“As the church we wish to see the government and the opposition coming together in favor of developing this country,” said Gichana.
