Rongai Boys secondary school in Nakuru County has been closed indefinitely as a wave of fire incidents sweep across public secondary schools in the country. Learning has been suspended indefinitely at the school just hours after a late evening inferno gutted a 100-student capacity dormitory at the school on Tuesday.

No casualties were reported as students were in their classrooms for remedial studies at the time of the fire.

Sources at the school that sought anonymity during a press interview attributed the 8pm fire to an electrical fault in the facility.

The students failed to salvage their property including bedding, clothes and other personal effects.

Nakuru County has seen fires destroy property at Kirobon Girls, Nakuru High, Kambala secondary,Michinda and Shinners Boys High schools with the latest being Rongai Boys High School.
