Police in Rongai sub-county have launched search for the killers who murdered an ailing middle-aged man on Sunday evening.
The killers are said to have murdered the deceased as he strolled home and later dumped his body at the entrance of his house.
Confirming the incident, area police boss Joseph Mwamburi said that the body of the deceased had cuts on the head, neck and stomach.
“We have launched manhunt for the thugs who murdered a 44-year-old man,” he said. The police boss added that the deceased was under medication.
Mr Mwamburi told journalists on Tuesday that they will not rest until the criminals involved are arrested and prosecuted.
He added that they have crucial leads, including some of the weapons left behind by the criminals, saying it will aid them in the investigations.
The police official observed that cases of people being murdered have sharply risen in the past six months.
Mr Mwamburi confirmed that at least six people have been murdered in mysterious circumstances. He attributed most of the deaths to family conflicts, saying that there is need for families to solve their issues peacefully.
He, however assured locals that police will be conducting 24-hour patrols with the aim of weeding out criminals. He urged residents to provide information that will help in apprehension of criminals.
