[Photo|Eddy Illah]Kisumu County Woman Representative Rosa Buyu has expressed joy following her victory on Thursday morning.Buyu's election was upheld after petitioner, Grace Akumu moved to court to challenge the ODM lawmaker's August 8, 2017 win.Justice Thripsisa Cherere in her ruling, said Akumu's petition lacked merit and that Buyu was validly elected. Akumu was then directed to pay costs amounting to Sh4 million to the respondents - Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the Returning Officer and the woman representative.Flanked by several county leaders led by Deputy Governor Dr Ochieng Owili, Buyu took to streets with supporters chanting victory songs.Addressing the press at the court buildings, Buyu said it was time to work since the case was somehow derailing her development agenda."It is now time to fly," she said.
