Kisumu county woman representative Rosah Buyu with help from the Ministry of Health has shared her plans to motivate midwives regarding their ultimate performance in the community.
County community health coordinator Elijah Oyora said county has about 3,000 registered midwives sourced from all the seven sub counties.
Buyu expressed her ultimate concern to motivate the midwives by asking Oyora to help them form groups commonly known as 'Chamas' where they are expected to register and apply for women development funds which is chaired by the woman representative.
There are also plans to aid midwives in the smooth operations and stimulate efficiency, a factor that Buyu said will legitimately take cause once the concerned officials have laid strategies to see these vision come to pass.
They also agreed to help resolve gender violence disputes by structuring what they termed 'Rescue centre' where victims will be educated on how to manage family feuds.
They also agreed to offer training that will emotionally, economically and psychologically uphold peace and allow progress within family.
"We need to work together as a subject of this county to better the lives of our people and avoid political attacks because the future of our people lies within us," Buyu said on Tuesday.
