Cord leader Raila Odinga’s daughter Rosemary has urged Kisumu youths to register as voters in large numbers ahead of the 2017 general election.
Rosemary said there was need for youth to acquire national identification cards and register as voters in order for his father to become the next president in 2017 terming the next polls as crucial for the opposition leader.
“My vote is for Raila Amollo Odinga and the next elections is crucial and this is why am sensitizing as many people as possible throughout the country to acquire IDs and register,” she said.
Rosemary said the national identity and voters’ card drive dubbed ‘Unabelong’ aims at registering as many youths as possible who will vote Odinga.
She was speaking at Dunga Beach following an invitation from businessman Richard Ogendo who has declared his candidature for the Kisumu Central parliamentary seat.
The seat is currently held by Ken Obura who has fallen out with a section of opposition members for allegedly working with the Jubilee administration.
