National Treasury CS Henry Rotich has assured Kenyan's that they economy is indeed stable.
This follows claims that the prolonged political campaigns have negatively affected the economy.
However, Rotich claims all economic indicators have revealed that they main sectors were stable with the economy set to improve after the election period ends.
"What we all urge is that we should maintain peace and keep our country united as we head to the elections and afterwards," said Rotich as quoted by The Star.
Rotich spoke at the opening of an agricultural trade fair at the institution which took place at the University of Eldoret.
The CS was joined by Agriculture CS Willy Bett and Uasin Gishu senator Margaret Kamar.
Bett maintained that the agricultural sector has not been affected by the political campaigns and that the country has food security. "So far we have no evidence that agricultural activities have been negatively affected by the ongoing political situation. Farmers are upbeat and going on with their usual activities," said Bett.
