Nyando MP Fred Outa was forced to cut short his speech, Saturday, after rowdy youth attacked him, during a burial ceremony.

The ODM lawmaker had started addressing mourners during the funeral, to send off former area MP Miruka Owuor, in Ahero, Kisumu County.

The youth, believed to be allied to Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma, demanded that Outa who is supporting Senator Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o's gubernatorial bid, leaves the burial ceremony, immediately.

Outa seeks to succeed Nyong'o who is an ODM candidate, with Ranguma vying as an independent candidate.Chaos later broke out, forcing Outa's bodyguards to fire several gunshots in the air, to disperse the youth.

Police officers were forced to intervene, to restore calm, halting the burial for hours.

Accompanied by deputy governor Ruth Odinga, Outa recorded a statement at the Kisumu Central Police Station, saying some politicians ferried goons to the funeral to attack and kill him.
