Despite having a generally good outing in his Monday’s rallies across Nairobi County, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his team faced stiff opposition in a section of areas.
Kenyatta, who is seeking reelection made several stop overs across the city including Donholm, a region where opposition brigade held their rally on Sunday before submitting papers to IEBC.
But in Muthurwa, Kenyatta and his team had their speeches periodically interrupted by rowdy youths who chanted anti-Jubilee slogans.
The youths, who carried packed of maize flour and cooking pans were heard chanting bitterly over hiked food prices which the government had promised to solve.
A fortnight ago, the government responded to acute food shortage in reserves by subsidizing predication cost of millers that saw a packet of 2kg Maize flour significantly reduce t Sh90.
And opposition leaders on Sunday demanded to know the whereabouts of the subsidized maize flour claiming that the directive has not been implemented.
Nonetheless, Uhuru’s convoy proceeded to KICC where he held a peaceful mega rally despite early commission that rocked most parts of CBD as NASA and Jubilee supporters engaged in running battles.
