The irate youth pelted rotten eggs and stones as they stormed the venue of the meeting at Nakuru's Milimani estate.

They accused a group of leaders of hijacking Jubilee party.

“Mr Karimi knows very well that he is not supposed to hold a meeting without consulting other Jubilee leaders, but he has chosen to ignore them and gone ahead to impose himself as the JP Nakuru County chairman,” Charles Kiarie, alias Koches told the Standard.

However, Karimi dismissed the claims.

“I made a personal decision to popularise JP in Nakuru town. There is no way the President can launch a party and we fail to sell it to the masses,” he was quoted in the Standard. Controversy has rocked the Jubilee party in Nakuru with two factions emerging.

According to impeccable sources, Karimi’s faction enjoys the support of Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, MPs Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West) and Naivasha’s John Kahigi.

A rival group mostly include aspiring candidates in the region and are backed by Speaker Susan Kihika, MPs David Gikaria (Nakuru Town East), Subukia’s Nelson Gaichuhie, Joseph Kiuna (Njoro) and Nderitu Mathenge (Gilgil).

Others include former TNA chairman Abdul Noor and Nakuru Traders union chair, Simon Nasieku.
