According to Munyua's family, Woki was working with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

"They were travelling in a UN van when the van was blown off at Garowe,” said Michael Munyua, brother to deceased.

Miriam Munyua, Woki’s mother, mourned her as a selfless person who was ready to risk her life to help others.

"All she wanted was to see other people especially children live without problems. She knew Somalia was unsafe but would not think twice while travelling there,” said the mother.

The family is now planning to travel Somalia to help identify her body.
