Ruaka residents have urged the county government to focus more on development in 2016.
In their resolutions and expectations for 2016, the locals want the government to spearhead and development and deliver its promises to the people.
Speaking to this writer on Thursday, the residents said that much of last year was spent on politics and wrangles.
“We expect our county government (Kiambu) to focus more on service delivery in the coming year (2016)," said Sharon Wairimu, a local teacher.
Ms Wairimu said that service delivery has been low in the county, adding that the county administration needs to improve next year.
She cited repair and renovation of roads, connection to electricity, water and upgrading of public hospitals and health centers as the areas the county needs to look into come 2016.
Boniface Kinuthia, a youth in the area, lauded the county government for spearheading youth agenda.
Mr Kinuthia said that much had been achieved in the ending 2015 year adding that county should continue the same next year.
“As youths we are happy with our county government because of the various development programmes it initiated for young people during 2015,” he said.
Mary Mburu, a business woman in the area cited insecurity as a major challenged saying that the county government needs to improve.
She said that the government has the resources to promote development and fight poverty.
Ms Mburu also asked county leaders led by Governor William Kabogo to put aside politics and work for the people.
She observed personal politics was dominant among leaders in the county and discouraged leaders from the same in the coming year.
Speaking to journalists at Kiambu town on Wednesday, county senator Kimani Wamatangi asked leaders to concentrate on service delivery.
The senator lashed out at some politicians who he said had started campaigns for 2017 at the expense of providing services to citizens.
