The body of rugby star Mike Okombe has been transferred from a Nakuru morgue to Kakamega county ahead of burial next weekend.
Okombe's family moved the body from Valley hospital mortuary to Mukumu hospital mortuary awaiting burial scheduled for November 18.
According to his father Josephat Shitindo Okombe, the player will be laid to rest at his home in Emasatsi village, Khwisero sub-county, Kakamega county.
He said the family decided to transfer the body closer to home since the government pathologist completed the post-mortem.
Shitindo said his son was in Nakuru to complete his studies at Kabarak university and was expected to graduate in December but met his death.
He said justice should be done to the family.
"As a family we call on the DPP to ensure justice prevails and my son's killers held accountable," said Shitindo.
The player was stabbed to death last Saturday night while attending a friend's birthday party.
Four suspects were arrested waiting to be arraigned in court on Monday.
