After the sudden death of TopFry Nakuru Rugby Club player Mike Okombe, the Rugby Union has again lost a former player Peter Wekesa and his twin brother John Wekesa.The two were involved in a road accident in Mombasa after which they were pronounced dead at Mariakani hospital.

The two were the eldest brothers of the late Andrew Wekesa who played for Homeboyz and was killed on January.

Peter was the captain for Homeboyz when they wan Ess Cup in 2011.

Below is a message from Homeboyz Rugby Club on their official Facebook page according to CitizenTV

“With profound sorrow, we would like to inform you all about the sad demise of Mr. Peter Wekesa and Mr. John Wekesa through a fatal road accident yesterday.“Peter was a captain at Homeboyz Rugby Club that led the team on an unbeaten streak winning the ESS Cup that earned us promotion to the Kenya Cup in 2011. The two were also brothers of the late Andrew Wekesa.“Let’s pray for the departed Souls and the bereaved friends, family members, and the rugby family especially through this trying time.“Homeboyz Rugby Club expresses our deep and heartfelt condolences and joins in praying for the sorrowing family who has lost three young men in less than a year. Let our Almighty God take the departed souls to their Heavenly Abode and give the entire family strength to bear this heartbreaking loss.“We will give further updates once we receive them and request that we all allow the family time to grieve."

Okombe was reported to have been stubbed by girlfriend.
