Gathogo accuses the organisation of being used by her political rivals to advance their selfish political interests. She especially took issue with the Sh100 the association collects from the motorcycle operators every month.

Speaking while addressing the operators in Ruiru town on Saturday, Gathogo said she has the best interest of the operators and the organisation should stop politicising issues.

"This money is illegal and should be suspended forthwith, i do not know how the association intends to help these people improve their lives. They should keep off," said Gathogo.

The legislator said that they have been helping the operators to acquire licences as well as constructing parking sheds for them.

However, the association has denied the allegations that it is up to no good, claiming to be interested in their members' welfare.

"Ours is to address the operators plight especially when faced with police harassments or when demanding compensations from insurance companies," said Gathimu Mwangi, the association chairman.
