Ruiru Member of Parliament Esther Gathogo has called Mashinani residents to be keen when having intercourse and urged them to make use of condoms to avoid the spread of STIs and unwanted pregnancy.
This comes after cases of early pregnancy and spread of HIV has become on rampant in the villages of Kiambu County which according to the MP the young adults are lacking information on preventive measures.
The legislator who was speaking on Sunday in Kambiti village in Ruiru said that many youth tend to practice unprotected sex which results to regrets and infection of HIV/AIDS which is on rampant in Ruiru town and Kiambu County at large.
She has urged youth that in partnership with the county government of Kiambu, they will be supplying condoms to villages in the Ruiru constituency to help tame the increase of the killer disease.
She has urged youth to visit her office to be given condoms which again they have been supplied to every joint in Ruiru and renowned clubs and hospitals.
“Condoms have been supplied to every joint, bar and restaurants, hospitals and even police stations thus youth should visit the places or come to my office to be given the protection,” said the MP
The law maker has however challenged the youth to protect their loved ones and parents not to suffer due to their sons and daughters are infected with the killer disease or unwanted pregnancy that can be avoided if they practice safer sex.
She also challenged adulterers’ couples to use condom when practicing sex to avoid cases of orphans and street children due to their deaths because of the killer disease.
