Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo has appealed to the police to arrest every person involved in the illicit brew business.
In an exclusive interview, Gathogo said that everyone should account for anything they do.
“We are going to make sure that Ruiru constituency and sub-county are drug free. We want the area to be conducive for every person,” Gathogo said.
She said that investors will shy away from investing in the region if drug problems are not addressed.
“With the claims of drug abuse in Kiambu County, some investors are shying off. We want investors to prefer Kiambu County and we will make a difference by eradicating illicit brews in the area,” the MP added.
Drug abuse has been discussed a lot by stakeholders in the county and residents are optimistic about the development of the area. They say the involvement of leaders in the fight against drug abuse will bear fruits.
Gathogo added that she is working with the National Authority for Campaign against Drug Abuse (Nacada) to address the vice.
