92 drums containing 18,000 litres of kangara brew and another 140 litres of chang'aa were yesterday nabbed in a police operation led by Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira.
Thuranira said that the operation will continue where they will also arrest those caught selling alcohol outside the hours stipulated by the law.
"We will continue with this operation until we put to an end to cases of reckless drinking which are on the rise in this area. Also those selling alcohol during the time not allowed by law will be dealt with", said Thuranira.
Ruiru sub-county Commissioner Mohammed Abdi was also present asked residents to be reporting those selling the toxic brews and living among them.
"My appeal to the members of the public is that this is a war that has just began and I would request them to volunteer information to my office or the police so that we can apprehend these people who have continued to taint our image,” said Abdi.
Abdi also observed that the brewers continue to destroy the lives of many youngsters by selling them the harmful concoction.
