Ruiru MP Simon Kinga'ara has announced a facelift of Ruiru-Devki road which has been a major cause of traffic jam especially during rush hours.
Speaking on Tuesday at the site, King'ara said that it will only take one week to do the job.
"We have been having major problems with many of our roads occasioned by the ongoing rains but we have started a rehabilitation program of various roads.
We won't stop till all of them are in good condition," said King'ara.
Other roads that are in line include those at Githurai 44 and Gitambaya.Residents expressed joy saying that now they will be able to do business as the road was a major impediment.
"We are happy that our MP has come to our rescue because flashfloods had really curtailed our operations here. Our vehicles were also regular at the garage due to the condition of the road," Martin Chege, a businessman said.
Another businessman, John Maina, said that most of the time they were being forced to use the longer Kimbo route which cost them a lot and wasn't favourable for business.
