Speaking to the media at the county offices Ms Odinga stated that she had not received any information from Governor Jack Ranguma on the alleged transfer of the city manager.

“I am not aware of the removal of the city manager but once I am aware and there is proper assessment to warrant that kind of move, I will look into it. I will not allow any woman to be subjected to undue, unfair and discriminatory acts,” said Ms Odinga.

Ms Ombara who was removed from the city manager docket has now been transferred to head the UN Habitat-sponsored Lake Front Development Programme which is aimed at opening up the city's lake shores, a position the former city manager has reportedly opposed.

Women MCAs from the county have also rallied behind Ms Ombara stating that Ranguma must respect women leadership.

They want the governor to reinstate the city manager failure to which they will seek redress on the same.

Shaurimoyo MCA Pamela Odhiambo said that as women leaders in the county they will not allow Governor Ranguma to interfere with the running of the donor funded projects in the county.

She warned that the governor will lose the women votes come the next election if the city manager is not reinstated with immediate effect.

“We want the governor to state clearly his motive of transferring Ms Ombara. She was doing a good job and we have experienced the effectiveness of her leadership and therefore we are saddened by the malicious removal from her docket,” said Ms Odhiambo.

Nominated MCA Carolyne Ogot accused the governor of running a one man show in the affairs of the county. She stated that Ranguma acted in malice and against the women leadership in the county.

“There are procedures of removing someone from their post. You cannot wake up overnight and remover a public authority from their dockets without even consulting the other arms of government," said Ogot.
