Those he accuses and referring to themselves as 'Diaspora' had convened a meeting where they accused the county government of segregation when it comes to employment.

The county Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga attended the meeting that resolved to ensure residents from other counties but living and working in Kisumu are given equal job opportunities.

Ranguma now said the group is out to cause disharmony in the county a head of the coming elections.

“This is a political step aimed at distracting my administration,” Ranguma said.

Addressing a press conference in Kisumu on Monday, Ranguma challenged the group to spearhead economic change in the county instead of peddling cheap propaganda.

He said his government has been inclusive of everyone and assured residents that it remains his duty as the governor to protect their interests.

The governor said Kisumu people should remain united and should not accept to be divided along tribal and clan lines.

Ranguma promised to take up the matter with his deputy to ensure cohesiveness in Kisumu.

“I am surprised that she attended the meeting without letting me know. I will take up the issue with her,” he said.
