NASA leader Raila Odinga's sister Ruth Odinga has come out to endorse President Uhuru Kenyatta's sister for Nairobi deputy governor position.
The former Kisumu deputy governor has backed Annah Nyokabi for the position which became vacant following the resignation of Polycarp Igathe early this year.
“She has been tried as a Woman Rep and tested.I believe she has what it takes to help GovernorSonko drive his agenda,” said Ms Odinga.
Former deputy Polycarp Igathe resigned on grounds he had ‘failed to earn the trust’ of Governor Mike Sonko.
This comes few days after former Prime Minister Raila Odinga threw his weight behind Nyokabi.Raila who was speaking at his Capitol Hill office where he reiterated that she is the best suit candidate to fill the position.
He disclosed that he has known Nyokabi for a long time and her record speaks for itself.Nyokabi served as Kiambu county Mp in the first Jubilee term.
She has been involved in the promotion of gender equality, economic empowerment and wealth creation.
Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko on Sunday, March 18 turned to social media to seek help in picking a suitable Deputy Governor ahead of the deadline. The Governor presented a list of 22 individuals asking his Facebook and Twitter followers to help him decide who was perfect for the position.
