Outspoken Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has hit the headlines again after claiming that Deputy President William Ruto broke into tears while begging for help in his office.
Muthama said the incident happened in 2009 when the DP was serving as a minister in the Agriculture docket, Ruto had been summoned by a parliamentary committee over the maize scandal.
“Ruto wept in my office to save him from being kicked out of Parliament in 2009 over poor management of maize stores,” Muthama was quoted by The Star.
The Machakos Senator is said to have brought up the alleged incident after Ruto publicly rubbished his appointment in the parliamentary committee to mitigate on the IEBC reforms.
Muthama further called Ruto "an ingrate" and was also that he said he lacks diplomacy and negotiation skills yet it was him who helped him during the time he was involved in the maize scandal.
