Budalangi Member of Parliament Ababu Namwamba has insisted that he only enjoys ‘a close relationship’ with Deputy President William Ruto, and that he has not moved to Jubilee Party.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Namwamba sought to quash claims that he was working with Ruto, insisting they have been friends for long now.
“He was my friend when we served together at ODM, he was my friend when we were members of Parliament in the 10th parliament, he was my friend when we were both ministers in the grand coalition government," said Ruto.
"He has been my friend even after we split up, he moved out of ODM and I remained, and he is currently the deputy party leader of Jubilee and I’m partly leader of Labour Party and we are friends,” further revealed Namwamba.
“I owe nobody an apology, and no explanation for who my friends are,” he added.
The two-time Budalangi MP has insisted that he will be in the ballot come August for the general elections, seeking a third term to serve his people.
Before leaving ODM, the now leader of Labour Party was accused of being a ‘mole’, who was fighting the party from within with other leaders claiming he was on his way to the ruling party, Jubilee.
