Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday toured parts of Western Kenya, as campaigns hit fever-pitch across the country.

The deputy took the chance to tear in the opposition alliance, just days after the Nasa team launched their Western region blueprint in Kakamega County.

The deputy said that the opposition should first address the debt incurred by Mumias Sugar Company while they held power.

“Tumeweka pesa pale billion mbili ya kwanza, billion moja ya pili kuzuia kampuni hii isifungwe kutokana na uporaji ambayo uliendeshwa na watu wako kwa ile mtego wanapangia nyinyi tena tarehe nane, (We put in Sh2 billion, then another Sh1 billion in order to save the company from collapsing after embezzlement by the same people who want your vote again in August,” said the DP.

“Before they tell you that they will better the economy of this area, they should first tell Kidero to return all the money they stole from Mumias Company,” he added.

Ruto addressed rallies in Namakanda, Matuhu, Namakholo and Cheptembwai in Kakamega and Nandi Counties.

Kenyatta will be expected to join Ruto in the Western region for the week long campaign in South Nyanza, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin Gishu and Bungoma Counties.
