Deputy President William Ruto has launched a scathing attack at National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga ahead of the rerun.

Speaking during a rally in Kitui County, Ruto dared opposition leader to face him in 2022 once President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second term in power. The second in command said that the opposition is no threat to the Jubilee leadership.

"Now you are targeting me in your latest attacks but if you really want to dare me lets meet on the ballot 2022," Ruto said, as quoted by The Star.

The Deputy President also called upon Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to leave the opposition in order to be part of the winning team. On his part, Uhuru said that the supporters of the opposition leader are free to conduct protests across the nation on condition that they maintain peace.

"You are free to roam in the town for as long as you wish. But at the end of the day, you will be accountable to your families whether Baba will put food on the table," he said.

The opposition has maintained that it will not be taking part in the fresh election if its irreducible minimums are not met.
