Deputy President William Ruto has admitted that the Jubilee government has not fully implemented its 2013 pre-election manifesto and has failed to deliver some of its promises.
Speaking in an interview on Citizen TV Sunday, Ruto blamed some of his government's failures on lack of cooperation from county governments, mostly those allied to the opposition alliance NASA.
He said that despite having promised to introduce 5 new state of the art stadia,county governments of Mombasa and Kisumu have frustrated the government's efforts making it hard to be implemented.
''It is true that we have failed to achieve some of the visions we had for Kenya but we are not fully to blame.For instance,in the stadia issue,we had everything in place but some counties including Mombasa and Kisumu have blocked our efforts,'' said Ruto who again cited financial constrains on the failure to deliver laptops to standard one pupils.
The government has instead issued tablets in the ongoing initiative.
''We consulted and decided that tablets would be better and compatible with our limited resources.We have since issued over 800,000 gadgets and should be hitting the 1 million point in the very near future,'' he said.
