Former Budalang’i MP Raphael Wanjala has sensationally claimed that Deputy President William Ruto ignored his input to Jubilee Party and instead opted to work with Ababu Namwamba, then in opposition party, ODM.
Wanjala, a close confident of President Uhuru Kenyatta, bowed to pressure from elders and subsequently joined the Orange party.
And Wanjala claims his woes in Jubilee persisted when the DP, who has made numerous trips to Western Kenya, chose MP Ababu Namwamba instead of him.
“I have been working with Jubilee but Ruto spoiled it all. Instead of working with me, he chose to work with Namwamba who was then in ODM,” Wanjala said.
The former assistant minister added: “I have been working hard to tilt the voting pattern but my people wanted me to go to ODM and I am finally home.”
Mr. Namwamba, who walked out of ODM, last year, has since joined Labour Party of Kenya, which hasn’t though pronounced its favourite presidential candidate.
However, Namwamba has never hidden his closeness with DP, a reason why a section of ODM leaders accused him of being a mole within the party.
