Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto says the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) system is efficient and transparent, disregarding the manual voter registration system.
He said the BVR system will ensure Kenyans get popularly elected leaders.
“Let the best candidates win regardless of their party affiliation, tribe, race, color or region. We don’t want to see a PEV-like situation in the coming August general election,” Ruto said as quoted by the Star.
“My concern is for the winning president to be a Kenyan and a person who respects democracy, rule of law and acknowledges the existence of various political parties,” he added.
He at the same time asked the national government to ensure a peaceful election in August.
