Deputy President William Ruto has castigated claims by the Opposition Cord, that it will unseat the incumbent Jubilee government after the August 2017 polls.
Citing Cord leader Raila Odinga's ambitions to be Kenya's fifth president, Ruto said Raila can never be a president.
"Jubilee tumekua tukifanya kazi nzuri sana kwa sababu ya wakenya wote. Lakini yule mganga anasema eti anataka awe rais. Yule mganga anaweza kuwa rais kweli? Alishindwa alipokua serikalini, sasa ni nini kigeni atafanya. Kazi yake ni kupiga domo tu na kukosoa,'' Ruto said in Swahili, in what seemed to be a direct 'bullet' to Odinga.
(Jubilee has been doing a great job for all Kenyans but that witch says he wants to be the next president. Can 'he' really be a president? 'He' failed when he was in government, what else can he do. He's just good at talking and criticising).
Speaking during the first day of Central Kenya tour alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ruto said Jubilee's task was to better the lives of the people and not to engage in empty rhetorics.
"That is why we are investing in education, infrastructure, security, health, agriculture and growing the economy. We are developing each part of our country with the aim of attaining a middle income economy status,'' Ruto said in Nanyuki Town, Laikipia County, Monday.
