Deputy President William Ruto should focus on life in cold after 2017 elections because he cannot win presidency, observes KANU chairman Gideon Moi.

Moi, who also doubles as Baringo senator, insists that only God knows someone’s destiny and cannot reward people who ‘focus’ on the future rather than the present.

Arguably, the two are senior most leaders in vote rich Rift Valley and have been embroiled in a war of words for years now, in what analysts associate with supremacy battles.

“Someone is busy telling our people about 2022 yet they are dying like flies. It is absolutely ironical that people are such power hungry and they only think of their selfish interests,” said Moi during Sunday’s tour at the troubled Baringo region.

“They will not ascend any far because our people have known them better. We cannot allow such leaders to lead,” added Mr. Moi, who also urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to request for votes in Rift Valley without using proxies.

Despite the fierce rivalry between the duo, Moi has however, supported Mr. Kenyatta’s re-election in August.

Although the details of the secret pact between Moi’s KANU and Jubilee Party is not yet public, it is however believed that KANU will be given cabinet slots should Uhuru get re-elected.
