Ruto was accompanied by Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.

He addressed a closed-door security meeting at Chesongoch Sisters' Convent before commissioning 230 police reservists where politicians were locked out.

During the meeting, reservists were issued firearms and uniforms at Chesongoch Catholic Church.

Among the politicians locked out were Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Marakwet East MP Kangogo Bowen and former MP Linah Kilimo.

Last week, Ruto’s meeting was disrupted by bandits who attacked the area.
