Deputy president William Ruto has blasted Cord leaders who are bent on punishing party rebels terming it as slavery.
Speaking during a mass in Masii Christ the King Catholic Mission, Diocese of Machakos in Mwala sub-county on Sunday Ruto noted that political alignment is accepted all over the world and every politician has a right to change his\her mind concerning politics.
"Every person has a right to a change of mind or opinion only a slave doesn't," said Ruto.
He denied allegations that the Jubilee government is trying to woo leaders from the opposition to join it where he noted that its only urging leaders from the opposition to work closely with the government to ensure development in their regions.
He said that issues such as good policies, fair play and progressiveness of a party or an institution attracts those discontented elsewhere.
"Expecting one to be a slave just because he\she is in a party is being retrogressive," he concluded.
Also present were Mwala Mp Eng Vincent Musyoka, Masinga Mp Itwiku Mbai, Machakos township Mp Victor Munyaka and Yatta Mp Francis Mwangangi.
The legislators vowed to work with the government in power to ensure development to their people despite being labelled as jubilee moles by Cord leaders.
