The chairman of the Council of Governors Isaac Ruto has condemned the leadership of the United Republican Party (URP).
Speaking in Eldoret on Tuesday, Ruto, who is also the governor of Bomet County has said URP is not a democratic party, after nominated MCAs, who are supporting him were threatened to be ejected from office.
The Bomet governor said the move is aimed at forcing other Bomet MCAs to proceed with a motion that if passed, will see him impeached.
The governor said if United Republic Party will continue with this kind of leadership, which he described as dictatorial, it will never lead the country in future.
URP, which is still deliberating on whether to join Jubilee Alliance Party, was an ally party to Jubilee Alliance before it was dissolved.
The party, whose slogan is 'Kusema na Kutenda' is led by second in command, Deputy President William Ruto.
The Vice President has been at loggerheads with the Boment governor in the recent past, after the governor continued with his push to call for increased funds for county governments.
