Deputy President William Ruto has accused the opposition of engaging in sideshows to remain relevant before the 2017 elections saying they have sensed defeat.
He urged Kenyans to ignore the opposition’s ‘noise’ saying the government will not bow to their pressure over Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)IEBC.
He further maintained that if the IEBC commissioners will have to be sent home, the legal process must be followed.
“It is not what the President, Deputy President says, but what the law stipulates. The opposition is in confusion after sensing defeat in 2017 general elections,” said Ruto.
He spoke in Murang’a County after touring Gatanga and Kiharu constituencies for education events.
The Deputy President was accompanied by the County leaders including Governor Mwangi wa Iria, Senator Kembi Gitura, MPs Sabina Chege (Women Rep), Humphrey Njuguna (Gatanga), Irungu Kang’ata (Kiharu), Clement Wambugu (Mathioya) and Alice Wahome (Kandara).
Others were Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Kanini Kega (Kieni) and Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete).
The MPs faulted CORD’s decision to hold parallel Madaraka Day celebrations at Uhuru Park grounds.
