Speaking at Iterio Lutheran church on Sunday during the fundraising the Deputy President defended the group by saying that they had a choice of visiting him for development discussions.

He accused those who protested against the visitation by saying that they are the ones who do not what development.

“I heard that when some leaders visited me at my home there was some who accused them," said the DP.

"So I was wondering why they were being accused since I am the one who hosted them at my place,” said Ruto.

“Was I to ask for permission to host them and who was I supposed to ask since nothing was wrong for them to visit me," added Ruto.

"We should stop this discussion and focus on development,” he said.

He also said that he will work with all leaders whether in national government or in county level as one way of embracing development.

“We will continue working with all leaders for development and I will continue visiting this region so that we can move together," added the DP.

The delegation from Kisii county that visited the Ruto some months ago was conspicuously led by Ongwae’s deputy Joash Maangi, ODM MP Richard Onyonka of Kitutu Chache South and Nyaribari Chache’s Richard Tong’i among others.
