Deputy President William Ruto is now calling upon opposition co-principals Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka to drop their stand against a recent peace agreement between the alliance supremo Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Nyandarua county Saturday, at a time when the trio has launched an offensive the pact, citing exclusion, Ruto endorsed the agreement noting that it is necessary for national healing.
He hailed Odinga and Kenyatta for making the decision at a time when the nation yet to recover from it's current political division resulting from the contested August 8 and October 26 presidential polls.
"I urge our colleagues in the opposition to stop complaining and instead join us in unifying the nation. Its clear that we need unity and that can only be fully realized if we all join hands," said the DP.
He urged the political class to stop politicizing the development stressing on the need for the country to concentrate on developmental policies.
According to Ruto, the political season is over and all political activities should be shelved for future contests.
"We now need to close the political chapter to enable us concentrate on bettering our nation," said Ruto.
He was flanged by a section of Jubilee party leaders including Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and area Governor Francis Kimemia.
