Chama Cha Mashinani party leader Isaac Ruto has defended the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga over allegations he incited the Maasai community during a Nasa rally in Kajiado.
The Nasa co-principal warned the Jubilee government to leave Raila alone.
This is after Jubilee leaders called on relevant agencies to investigate and arrest the opposition leader over hate speech remarks.
The Bomet governor said Raila did nothing wrong by telling the community not to sell their ancestral land.
“The Maasai community are victims of historical land injustices which the government has failed to address. That is the reason it has pained them to hear the people of Kajiado urged not to sell their indigenous land,” said Ruto.
The governor was speaking at Shartuka in Transmara West, Narok county, Tuesday.
