Deputy President William Ruto. [Photo/Public universities have been given the green light by the government to build hostels through the private-public partnerships (PPPs).
The announcement was made by Deputy President William Ruto who encouraged public institutions of higher learning to pursue PPPs.
He argued that PPPs would give the universities a level of financial stability and enable them to focus on the quality provision of education.
Ruto also noted the surge in the number of students is a great opportunity for investors to partner with universities.
The announcement was made at the Mara University graduation ceremony.
