Deputy President William Ruto has refuted claims made by the National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer Raila Odinga that the Jubilee government is planning to rig the elections.
During a press conference in Nairobi, Monday, Raila revealed that the Jubilee administration using the Military, National intelligence Service (NIS) and police to doctor the August 8 polls.
“A series of meetings of officers from the National Intelligence Service have taken place with the sole purpose of coming up with a plan to help Jubilee retain power at all costs, particularly in the event that the courts maintains that results declared at the constituency level are final,” said Raila.
However, speaking during a Jubilee rally in Embakasi East, Nairobi, Ruto criticised the Nasa team for creating ‘unnecessary noise’ and asked them to prepare for the elections.
“I hear them claim we want to rig. I want them to be ready, as everyone else is for elections on August 8,” said Ruto.
“They always complain. They complained about IEBC Commissioners. They complained of BVR. They complained of ballot papers. Now they are complaining the military is helping us to rig,” he noted.
They have no agenda to sell. They have no track record and they know they cannot win an election so they keep creating excuses. We want our friends to prepare for elections and stop making unnecessary noise,” he added.
