Narok gubernatorial hopeful Patrick Ole Ntutu has cautioned Deputy President William Ruto and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale against disrespecting local leaders during their campaigns in the county.
Speaking on Tuesday, the Narok West MP further threatened to mobilize the locals to boycott Jubilee Party rallies in the area should the leaders continue their abusive language.
“We will direct our people not to attend your rallies if your agenda is to paint our local leaders in bad light, we expect this to be a peaceful election and everyone should endear themselves to the electorate by selling their policies so that we can avoid any form of violence," he stated.
“I have a lot of respect for Duale because he hails from a pastoralist community like me, but he must respect his compatriots. I understand he will loose on August and that will happen because Duale has no respect for other leaders,” he added. The lawmaker further exuded optimism that he would beat the incumbent governor Samuel Ole Tunai during the forthcoming general elections.Tunai is set to seek re-election on a Jubilee Party ticket whereas Ntutu is gunning the county's top seat on a Chama Cha Mashinani ticket.
