DP Ruto has been in the past few days in the coastal counties of Mombasa, Kwale and Taita Taveta launching different development projects. The coastal counties had been previously regarded as the opposition NASA strongholds which greatly disregarded the Jubilee Administration especially President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.

However, since the handshake, things have changed. In the tour of Mombasa county, Ruto was cordially welcomed by political leaders from both NASA and Jubilee and the cheerful residents. The same was evident during his tour of Kwale county  where political leaders from across the political divide came together to declare their support and willingness to work with him for the common good of the Kenyan people.

On Sunday 18th March 2018 during a church service at St. Barnabas ACK church in Voi, Taita Taveta County, it was surprising to see top NASA politicians openly endorsing Deputy President William Ruto for 2022 presidency.

Key among them was the vocal Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa who stated, "We cannot stop an idea whose time has come, 2022 God-willing is William Samoei Ruto. We will help you to ensure that the big four agendas of Jubilee are realized. Maybe some of us have been the hinderances but now the doors are open, we want development in the fastest way possible."

This is a major boost for the Deputy President as he warms up to the 2022 presidential race where he seeks to become the 5th President of Kenya. He surely is enjoying the most harvest from the Uhuru-Raila handshake.
