Deputy President William Ruto has come out to explain why Jubilee Party lost the crucial Mombasa votes to NASA.
Speaking in Mombasa on Friday, Ruto said that Jubilee is keen to ensure no similar mistake occur gain during the repeat presidential elections set for October 17.
The DP said blamed agents for not delivering the coastal city’s votes.
"I know there was a problem with agents here. Agents let us down. This time we will have no agents decided in Nairobi," said Ruto.
Jubilee got 99,109 presidential votes against NASA's 238,809 votes in Mombasa county.
A section of Jubilee leadership at the Coast had differed on who should lead President Uhuru Kenyatta’s campaigns in the region.
A section wants the lead campaigner and former Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shabhal to be replaced by Tourism CS Najib Balala.
The two factions had clashed earlier at the Wild Waters before the arrival of Ruto.
