Deputy President William Ruto has come out to explain why the Jubilee Party is against disbandment of the current IEBC head of the October 26 repeat polls.
Speaking in Isiolo on Wednesday during a campaign rally, Ruto said that his party is against changes at IEBC since the Supreme Court did not recommend that.
The opposition National Super Alliance has maintained that changes must occur at IEBC before heading to the repeat polls.
NASA wants CEO Ezra Chiloba and the secretariat to vacate office before agreeing to be part of the polls.
"That (the ruling of the court) is what we are going to do by reviewing the law and Parliament will do exactly that,’’ said the DP.
Deputy President William Ruto has maintained his party’s position that electoral laws will be changed while the poll agency will remain intact.
"The court ruled that if the electronic system of transmission (of votes) fails, then the manual system should be in place so that the votes of millions who cast their votes on August 8 are also counted," he said.
