Bomet County Governor Isaac Rutto faces an uphill task defending his seat in the august polls, with latest survey indicating a close tie between him and his closest challenger, Joyce Laboso.
The survey, which was carried this month puts Ruto just a percentage point ahead of Laboso, who has made it clear she is going for nothing else apart from the top seat.
Infotrak, who carried out the survey spoke to 800 people in the county, who represented the over 400,000 registered voters.
The gubernatorial race has attracted three contestants, with the incumbent, Isaac Ruto preferred by 38.9 per cent of the voters, while Joyce Laboso is close second with 37.8 per cent.
However, the worrying thing is the rise of undecided people, with the percentage rising by the day to stand at 39 percent.
The preferred candidate in the Senator’s race is Wilfred Lesan, with 24 per cent, followed by Kanu’s Nick Salat at 13.5 per cent, and Dr. Chris Langat at 11.4 per cent.
The women representative category is led by Joyce Korir at 20.7 per cent, followed by Cecilia Ngetich at 13 per cent.
A huge sample size of 42 per cent, which is almost half of all voters is still undecided.
Almost half of the respondents said they will not vote back their members of parliament, while 42 percent said they will them another chance.
Jubilee party is the most popular party in the area with 73 per cent, followed by Chama Cha Mashinani at 12 per cent.
