In a public lecture at the King's College in London Friday, the former Prime Minister reiterated his earlier suspicion over the controversial polls, maintaining that he won but was rigged out in the first race.

Speaking in Mosoriot, Nandi county on Sunday, however, the DP poked holes into Odinga's remarks, noting that his view is inconsequential as the government does not need his acknowledgment to function.

"We do not need any validation from anyone or legitimacy from any process to be a government. We are a government because Kenyans trusted and elected us," he said.

He further took issue with the National Super Alliance (NASA) chief's history of rejecting results, after losing in all his presidential attempts.

Ruto bashed the veteran leader who has since lost four times, accepting only one defeat, saying that his recurrent foul cries have negatively impacted on the nation.

"The biggest threat to our stability and progress is people with questionable credentials who participate in elections but aren't ready to accept the results," stated Ruto.
